Ability to Assign Sub-Items

The preview for Sub-Items is called Sub-Tasks and shows the ability to assign an Owner. In reality, a Sub-Item cannot be assigned to anyone, severely limiting it's usefulness. I thought Jon said Sub-Items were being totally reworked during his annual update, but lately I heard it's not really a priority. Please least add the ability to assign an Owner.

Has this idea been completely ignored? It's 18 months later and this critical functionality isn't even being planned, worked on or discussed…

It's odd that a checklist has visibility in My work but sub-items which arguably contain data more critical to the task, can not be assigned and do not show up on My Work. How do you ensure that sub-items are tended to other than opening every record that has sub-items to locate those that are due? From a project management perspective, using this structure, sub-items have less value and checklists have more. I guess sub-items can be used for gathering info not critical to getting things done within a time frame. There must be use cases that drove this design, but my initial reaction is that the emphasis is backward. Sub-tasks should have greater visibility in my Work, and Checklists less so. Just my paradigm.

Jeff Chartier Totally agree! Unless it can be assigned to someone and appear in MyWork - it's really useless to me....

Sub-Items are a great feature that could use a face lift. Allowing filtering, reporting etc. would be very welcome.
