We already have a solution for this case, I'm having a lot of problems due to the lack of this improvement

We do this with Trello where we can even copy items from a set of rows in a spreadsheet and it automatically converts to checklist items. We have a planning template spreadsheet we use, and this makes it super easy.

Any Updates on this issue, we've like 40 entries on our checklist

Jon Darbyshire I wanted to check in and see how this is progressing. I have a work around with automations but its takes time to set it up. Sometimes I want to just copy the checklist instead of creating a new field. Creating an automation making the checklist again so on and so forth.... Any updates?

This feature will be useful. One possible implementation which can cover a broader scenario (not just checklist, although checklist is the most common need) is to adopt the concept of field library aka field template. When you create a column field type, you have the option to create the column from scratch, or fetch from your field template library (the custom field with parameters you had created and set before). That way you don't have to retype the field parameters again. Some platforms use this concept and it works very well. The benefit of such is when you need to update the parameters later on, you don't have to update all the Apps which you have used this checklist for example. You just need to update the field template.
For example, supposed you create a checklist for selecting Regions. Initially you may have 5 regions. But then you need to add the 6th Region. If you already have 20 Apps using this Region checklist, you will need to update each of these 20 Apps if there isn't a field template you can centrally update and fetch from.

I have this issue when I create an automation to copy a "template" record to create an active "task" record. I'd like the option to copy a full checklist from my template record but I don't think this is possible currently. The same with subitems. thanks!

Ian Tam We have found a good solution for your request to copy checklist items and will be starting on this next week. The quickest way for us to enable this is from the Grid View. You will be able to click into a checklist cell and copy the contents and then paste into another cell. Will this cover your use case?

Jon Darbyshire: Thank you for looking into this so quickly. Your suggestion would certainly and greatly help with existing records. But for yet to be created records, we also need to set it in the field level rather than cell level. My current problem is I have to retype 10 lines of items (or copy and paste line by line 10 times) in the check list field when moving from one App to another. And I have 4 checklist fields to do. That's a lot of retyping or copy and paste. Hence a copy and paste of the whole list of items option is put forward.
