As a user transitioning from monday.com, I find the absence of a detailed Activity Log for each app in SmartSuite a significant gap. This feature is essential for tracking updates, changes, and deletions in app data, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
Key Benefits:
1. Transparency: Quickly identify who made changes, what was updated or deleted, and when.
2. Accountability: Trace errors or unauthorized changes to specific actions or users.
3. Efficiency: Save time by viewing a centralized log instead of manually investigating records.
4. Filter Options: Refine displayed activities by user, date, type of action, or updated fields.
Suggested Features:
• Activity Stream Layout: A chronological view of all actions with metadata (user, timestamp, action type).
• Search and Filter: Options to filter logs by user, time, or fields.
• Data Granularity: Show specific changes (e.g., “Status changed from ‘Pending’ to ‘Completed’”).
• App and Record-Level Views:
• App-Level: Provide an overview of all activities across the app.
• Record-Level: Drill down into activity for a single record.
• Permissions Control: Allow admins to restrict access based on roles.
Use Case:
For workflows involving critical data like customer orders or project milestones, visibility into changes is essential. For example, if an “Order Status” field is updated or a record is deleted, the team must know who made the change and when. This level of transparency helps resolve discrepancies quickly and builds confidence in the system.
Implementation Idea:
A dedicated “Activity Log” button in the app header or toolbar could open a side panel or overlay showing the activity stream.
• Interactive Filters: Enable filtering by user, date, or action type.
• Save Preferences: Let users save filters for repeated use.
• Expandable Details: Each log entry can include drop-down details for specific updates.
This feature would make SmartSuite more user-friendly and competitive by offering the transparency and efficiency users expect in a modern workflow tool.

Would also like to have this feature at the solution level. It would be great to view a list of activity history across all tables in a solution. Want to compare two solutions to see which one was updated most recently.

This would solve Auditors needs that want to export to excel all data incuding the history of what was changed by who and when

So basically we can't see the all the history versions of the view? Similarly how Google sheet have history?
