We use SmartSuite to manage our IT development projects, and we utilize the timeline view to plan the tasks for the developers.
We would like a popup display to either select an existing task or create a new one if it doesn't exist.
The timeline view is very important to us because it allows us to quickly see who is working on what and whether all developers are occupied. We also use it to track absences (vacations). In the end, we have our team's workload plan through this view.
