This is also a feature we have been talking about internally for our own CRM and it covers the same type of use case you added above.
I am interested in your thoughts on the best way to present this option in the UI and would also like your thoughts on if Creators should be able to edit this App structure and related permissions in only the original App or in all places it is used.
As I have been thinking about this concept, I keep coming back to a Master / Slave type of implementation where you could only modify structure and permissions in the original App. Please share your thoughts....

Jon Darbyshire: My main concern with the current implementation is that although I can link two applications via field reference I still need to navigate to another Solution before I can click on the specific App tab.
I certainly haven't considered permissions and admin features with my original comment to support.
With years of Salesforce usage, I am used to the ability to add custom tabs to any number of their "Apps".
Maybe an "App Alias" or something that can assign another Solution's App to the available apps for the current solution.

Jon Darbyshire: I'd talk with you (plural) about differences between managing data and sensing data. As we think together, we can agree on how to design this so that we get the desired results while keeping costs (e.g. cognitive efforts and energy) under control.
