Jon Darbyshire Is this feature on any SS timeline? Another use case is the ability to simply tag someone in a comment in a new record. I don't want to have to assign anyone to the record. It's simply an alert in the notification center. This can be done via automation by sending an email along with an alert but I don't want to clog an inbox with tens of new records every day. Thank you!

I just wanted to comment to add my support for this feature.
Using automations, the address used is 'noreply@smartsuite.com' which is a communications dead end.
In my case, I am sending an invoice and shipment notifications to customers. If it went through the communication center, the customer won't have to fumble around with other email addresses and can just reply to the email, and my staff can stay within SmartSuite instead of having parallel workflows.
I love the templates on the communication center to send emails, but as mentioned it is lacking automation. I would much rather a Status change from 'Received to Shipped' to trigger the automation than to have users change the status and then remember to also send from the communication center. The communications are too important that I had to go with the automation.

David Pfeffer I like this idea. This may be as simple as adding an option (toggle) to the Email action that allows you to include the email in the Communication Center. Would this satisfy your use case?

Jon Darbyshire: The idea is for all communication with a client (record) to stay in the communication center of that record. Can replies to the automated email action be sent or stay associated with the record? If not, the toggle would be a great start and replies can be manually added. Thanks!

Jon Darbyshire: Yes, that's exactly what's lacking - a toggle for including an automated email in the particular Communication Center thread.
In this case, a reply will automatically go to the same record, right?

Jon Darbyshire: Okay I think this is the RIGHT Topic thread to add observations to BUT please be advised I'ma ClickUp Convert so that reflects a little off the Im surprised this is missing from the Automations capabilities.
I have the need to have an Automation to Send a communication center chat , Not email to a User assigned to a record , using all the usual test process to Trigger the event and have access to similar Edit functions a you deploy for the email Automation.
I have a LARGE amount of solutions that dont exactly have Direct Linked Records but COMMON use data that needs Users to get some better quality coms that something has updated.
I hate email its EVIL, :-)

Currently you can use automations to write an email. And you can send an email from the communication center but it can't be used in automations.
It would be great to be able to send an automatic email from within the communication center of a record to keep track of replies easily and efficiently.
