Calculated Fields in Forms
Kaitlin Pierce
I want to be able to add my record formula fields to my forms such that those completing a form can see the total being calculated. For example, on a student evaluation where the submitter is rating the student 1-5 on a list of competencies, I want to be able to display the average score for my submitter.

Thank you for posting, Kaitlin Pierce! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the 'view only' feature to work in different scenarios?
- Are there any specific competencies you would like to have included in the average score calculation?
- Would you like the average score to be visible to the student as well, or only to the submitter?

Jon Darbyshire The easiest way to answer that may be this screenshot have view-onlyof the first mockup I did for this evaluation in Fillout (or maybe you can access the form preview here? https://build.fillout.com/editor/preview/4jCWvZ4ozMus). Using their formulas, I was able to reference them in a text block since they don't do view only options on fields. Then, as items are rated, the sum and average score are calculated at the bottom so the rater can see the final result.
In SmartSuite, I would like to just be able to pull in a field, designate it as "view only," meaning it cannot be edited except through the fields involved in the calculation, and let the people completing the form be able to see the calculated result before they submit. I could see this being useful in an order form scenario as well.
