Calculations based on time
Jon Darbyshire
Hello André Zijlstra! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you provide some examples of the calculations you need to perform on the start and end times?
- Are there specific formats or units (e.g., hours, minutes, seconds) you prefer for the time calculations?
- Do you need the Date Range field to include any additional information apart from Start time and End time?

Jon Darbyshire Calculations on time: A job starts at 8am and ends at 5pm. There is a lunchbreak of 1 hour. I need to calculate the net hours (5pm - 8am - 1 hour break).
In the Netherlands we use a European time format (military).
I need the Date Range field to see the job in the Calendar. The calendar only will display the job correctly when the Date Range field includes the time data.

Jon Darbyshire Anouther use would be for when automations create or update Google Calendar events. It’d be nice if start and end time could be embedded into the same field (or you could set a default event length in the automation.) Otherwise I’ve had to make a formula field that adds the specified amount of time to create an end time. It’s a workaround but more fields always make things less streamlined.
