Client user account seats
Peter Novosel
Hi! Are there any plans to have client users that are not charged on our license and are read only? Clickup has this and it's a great way to save money.
The client can read progress on things they have access to as well as see tasks and even be tasked, they just can't create things. It's a great way to save some money when you're a freelancer and have clients who might need to get in there and be a part of the work process but they aren't an actual team member in the day-to-day workings of the business. Having to pay for a user seat for all clients can get pricey quick! I understand there are a few things that a read only link could be sent to in SS, but that's not really the same as being able to log in as a "client" and have some simple flow of user experience as a real user, just very limited functionality.

This is very valuable, we have set up clickup in the past to handle all content freelance writers and other that will have limited access to a list but they are able to use the fields and submit they work ( and of course give us the visibility and control). Right now the Guest feature is too limited on Smartsuite. Btw, others like Monday have it too.

You can invite your clients as a Guest, which allows them to view the records that are assigned to them. Great tool to use.

Paul Ricci: Is there a way to have Guests see a restricted set of projects or tasks that are related to them, even if they aren't directly assigned to them?
Christopher Maselli
Yes, this is SUPER important to me, too. For instance, I use ClickUp for Project Management for my small business and pay for all the user seats for my business. BUT we have a few views we want our clients to see/interact with without having to pay for extra seats (and we don't have to in ClickUp). For instance, we have a podcast and want one client to be able to log in and add/interact with the podcast page and that's all. Because it's such a limited use, we wouldn't want to pay for a seat for them, but it is super useful.

I'd like to see what Christopher Maselli is suggesting too. We have a very similar use; youtube channels we manage where it makes no sense to pay for a full seat to give the clients team minimal access. I believe Zoho does a good job of this with a 'Lite' user.
