Dashboard Gallery

I'm using Dashboards as a customer portal for some ongoing construction projects and am currently adding new project photos as attachments in the project update text block. I thought it might be cool to have a widget that worked as a gallery with the option to display all photos or cycle through a list of photos either manually or automatically timed, and derived by a direct upload or sourced from a files field in the project.

Thank you for posting, Andrew Scott! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features would you like in the gallery widget, such as zoom or slideshow options?
- How frequently do you anticipate needing to update or change the photos in the gallery?
- Would you prefer the gallery to support any specific file formats or sizes for the photos?

Jon Darbyshire Thanks for responding!
I think having two options to start with would be displaying one image at a time or viewing multiple in frame via thumbnails that you can scroll through. Where single or thumbnail view, clicking on an image should pull up the full sized one for closer viewing.
Additional features would include a slideshow option with the single image format type with either manual control or a timer that could be adjusted to personal preference.
Being able to add a footer or header to the slideshow could be useful for showing the image title or having a logo present during viewing. This could be adjusted in opacity. Being able to add a watermark to photos instead of a header/footer I can see use for as well.
Having a few different transition types would enhance the experience, such as a top down swipe vs. a left/right swipe vs. a fade.
For inspection purposes, being able to comment on images would be a useful feature, but this may result in additional complexity and having the slideshow feature for customer portal viewing would be the priority for me.
I've just started implementing this on our larger months long projects and I'm updating the dashboard bi-weekly, but, I can easily see this being a portal where the customers could have it on constantly as a real time progress tracker for the construction. Even getting notifications when new photos have been added or construction progress has increased with live notification updates appearing on the screen.
The photos I work with are generally JPG and that's what I get from the contractors as well. I'm sure there are other formats that would be useful for other users.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
