Document Designer: Add Custom Colors
Rachel Dew
It would be nice to have the ability to enter your own custom color where all the color options are available. Several options I would like to see:
- Use a color picker by clicking and dragging your cursor inside the picker area to highlight the desired color
- Choose color with eye dropper to select color from element/image on canva
- Choose color by inputting values for: Hex, RGB, HSL or CMYK

Hey Rachel Dew, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide examples of when you needed to use custom colors and how it would have improved your experience?
- Are there specific color formats (Hex, RGB, HSL, CMYK) that you use more frequently than others?
- Would you find it useful to have a feature to save and manage your custom colors for future use?

Hi Jon Darbyshire,
- Yes having the ability to set custom color would allow me to have elements in my document that align with my brand. For example I'm putting divider rows/rectangles on my meeting notes template/invoice that Right now I just have to select something that Is close and hope it works. (See attachment 1)
- RGB, and HEX are the ones that I use the most
- Yes it would be really useful to save your default brand colors maybe in workspace setting that you can choose from, or create a Brand/theme colors that are accessible in the document setting so when you are setting the colors for an element you can easily grab/select that color. Maybe 5-10 default colors would be helpful
