Peter Novosel - Can you please clarify? We are not able to connect Filter Widgets to Pivot Tables, which is what this request was asking for, and we still do not have this capability. Should we?

Geoff McAdam - Bumping this request up to you as something that would be extraordinarily helpful for our teams' dashboards.

I just spent the last week with an open support ticket about this. The SmartSuite AI bot and SmartSuite support staff all thought this should work. We all wasted a bunch of time because this limitation is not called out clearly in the help files.
This feels more like a bug than an enhancement request. But until it is supported, please at least make this gap clear in the help files so the AI bot, support staff, and users stop being misled.

I can provide another scenario - we have a solution for our volunteer management, ie number of volunteers, those in training, working solo etc. The table on which the pivot table is based captures the number of volunteers etc at the end of each month and where they are based. The pivot tables shows how many of each type are at our different locations, classic use of a pivot table. I can use the built in filter so the pivot table displays only the last month, but it means other users can't view other months work of data unless they have edit permissions and the know how to update the filter.

Great to hear your perspective, Shaun Buswell! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you would like the filter widget to interact with the pivot tables?
- What specific functionality are you missing when the filter widget doesn't filter pivot tables?
- Can you share an example of a scenario where this issue has impacted your work?

Hi Jon Darbyshire, thanks for the reply.
- We’d like the filter widget to ideally filter results for any widget used in the dashboard. Rather than using to provide a full overview of all data in a table, we’re using the dashboard to provide specific views for team members (camera operators on a film shoot) that they can then filter by project. They specifically need to only see results relevant to their particular project and this filter widget has enabled us to give all information a team member needs in one place.
- The pivot table is used to provide them a list of items required for their particular project (props for filming) so without the filter widget filtering the data, they see a list of all data, not just data relevant to them.
- An example would be that a camera operator looks at the dashboard and they can see a list of all shots relevant to the project they’re shooting, but the pivot table will show props from all open shoots. The workaround is to put the projects in the column, so they can at least see what is relevant to them, but it still will provide a list of data not relevant in the rows which can be confusing and result in the crew bringing unnecessary props to site.
If you need more info, please let me know.
