GDPR compliance and dedicated EU hosting

From my experience as a consultant in the EU markets, I can say that more and more businesses worry about data security of non-EU SaaS tools. By now, many serious businesses require full GDPR compliance and dedicated EU server hosting, without data exchange to US servers as a minimum requirements before even looking into the details of a software. I hope SmartSuite can make dedicated EU hosting available, at least on the higher plans.

SmartSuite has received a third-party GDPR certification, and has recently rolled out EU-based servers. We are migrating interested Enterprise plan customers at this time, and will expand EU data residency options in the near future.

I wonder: Are there any updates on the matter?

It could be a first step if SmartSuite got certified as Data Privacy Framework compliant:
I'm not sure if that would solve all concerns and legal problems. But it would certainly help me use - recommend - SmartSuite for EU clients.

I totally agree.
SmartSuite would be ideal for my business.
I work with entities who have very high security standards. And a tool that potentially transfers personal data to the U.S. is a red flag for my clients.
So, having a dedicated EU datacenter is the only way SmartSuite would actually be in full compliance with GDPR. - In the way European courts currently interpret the regulations.

Other established brands like Zoom, Microsoft 365 etc. have dedicated data centers for EU customers. - Mostly they are hosted in Germany because privacy regulations here are even more rigid.

In this regard, private cloud options would also be great, similar to Ninox:

I agree 100%. This is a key element for the EU.
