Hi Jon, 
The file types are all the ones you mentioned. 
I use Gmail, so as long as it works with that it would work for me. 
I would use them to add an email signature graphic, and oftentimes, I want to include PNG graphics in my sales emails.

What types of image files do you anticipate needing to insert (e.g., JPEG, PNG, GIF)?
Are there any specific email clients or platforms where this feature must be compatible?
How frequently do you expect to use this feature in your email automations?

Any updates on this? This would be way better than using Make and some email editing app. I don't need a full on newsletter. Just something that I can make emails look nice and professional and customizable. This is way more important than the dashboard. The dashboard is nice, but this is a basic function that's needed.

There is a CODE icon but doesnt seem to do anything.  
Is this feature coming soon or am I doing something wrong.

Jay Bussiere: The CODE icon is simply a text format feature to highlight text that is supposed to be programming code. It's similar to the Bold text button.

I am also disappointed there is no capability to use HTML or insert images into the email template.

Yes I agrees this is lacking. Customized emails beyond just text and data from smartsuite. Need to work on some type of work around in MAKE or Zapier for custom html emails.
