Hide Power Search Option for Users

Having more issues with the lack of permission controls in SmartSuite. As we are unable to assign tasks to teams and it's impossible to expect people to manually assign several people to every tasks as it's created we have the situation where we are trying to control who can edit what records by locking down the views to specific projects. However, the power search option can't be switched off and I've just found out people have been editing the wrong records for the wrong records. SmartSuite really need to take a look at the overall way permissions are managed and get a workable solution for project management but in the meantime we need a way to switch off the power search option for users.

There are a number of ways this could be handled with advanced formulas - you could do a get_list by last updated time, returning the lowest name, and automatically assign a task to whoever has the longest time since they last took a task - or just about any other similar automatic constraint.
If it needs to be manually assessed, the reality is that it needs to be manually assigned. If tasks are linked (ie, if someone does Task 1 they are also doing Tasks 3-6 and Task 10, etc) that could be setup via formulas and automations as well.
Dynamic filtering of linked records can also limit task assignments to a filtered sub-group of individuals, allowing for faster and more accurate manual assignment if that's a concern.

Kenneth Rea appreciate your comment but this should be standard functionality in the permissions controls of the system. Using formulas to handle permissions is very messy. We should be able to assign permissions based on the project and using RBAC without manual intervention. It's available in many other off the shelf products and disappointing to see it's not done properly in SmartSuite. We have only since found out these issues after signing up for several Enterprise licences on an annual plan so we need SmartSuite to take this issue seriously and find a workable solution.
