In Card View have to option to disable 'open record' when clicking in card area

When the Card View includes 'Yes/No' type fields as for example a slider No to Yes, the intuitive thing would be to click on the field to switch it from No to Yes or Yes to No.
But clicking on the Card View brings up the while record view. And the field 'clicked' is not always then visible
It would be helpful to switch off the default 'Open record' option and have it so the field can be updated, ie the slider moved from one setting to another.
Interesting a button can be clicked, but not not a Yes/No slider changed without the whole record window opening.

Hello Richard Hubbard! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more context on how often you encounter this issue and how it impacts your workflow?
- Are there any other fields besides the 'Yes/No' slider where you would like to disable the 'Open record' option?
- Could you clarify if you would like this feature to be customizable on a per-card basis or as a global setting?

Hi Jon Darbyshire
I am creating a workflow when onboarding staff and volunteers. To capture the progress through the journey from being first offered the role, confirmation emails being sent, references taken up, criminal record check etc the View Card is great at displaying all these different stages. Most of this activity is driven by automations, so monitoring progress is important.
I have done a screen shot below. The are five different Yes/No fields presented as a Yes/No slider. Some are automatically changed by an automation, others the HR Officer would move a slider from No to Yes when a task has been done, which itself may then trigger something else.
The button 'Send DBS email' works well. It has a URL generated by a deployed Google App Script, that can be clicked.
But when a slider is clicked on, it opens the Record View, and the way I have set up the Record View, the field that needs to be updated could be in a collapsed section so not visible and tricky to find if someone is not familiar with the setup.
This use of the Card View would rarely need the Record view to open up, so having the ability to disable this feature would be very helpful. It would be needed for all the cards in the view, not individual ones having it and others not. If that was the case I would create two separate views one with the option active and the other disabled.
As for other fields - there may be others, but it is the Yes/No option which is the critical one for me now as I am building this out.
I trust this answers your questions
Thank you for taking the time to look at this.
