Kanban Swimlane by Lookup Field

Hello Jon Darbyshire/ Peter Novosel / Tara Darbsyhire, Good morning. It would be great if we can consider look up field & linked record field for Kanaban view columns & swim lanes grouping which is already available in grid view. Think about it ... if i have my phases in another table and i am doing linked record to get the phase details, and if i can be able to view the record in Grid view by being able to group by linked record field, but then how fair is it to ask users to create same phase as single select or multi select field so it can be available in Kanban view group by field?
So either allow Linked record field or look up filed to be available as columns & swim lanes group by field in Kanban view (like Grid view) or add a feature for select & multiple select field to be able to use another table as source (so the drop down can be more dynamic than static list) for these fields. With the 2nd option, we don't need to create linked records as separate column, but instead will be able to use in the same single select or multi select fields. Appreciate your timely response. - Can you provide more details on how you currently manage the relationship between projects and tasks in your tables?
- What specific data do you find yourself duplicating across tables?
- How would you like the Kanban board to display the Project Departments?

- The duplicative data currently is what department owns the Project/Task
- I'm searching for the Kanban behavior closer to Jira. Where swim lanes can be set by field on table (right now missing is the lookup field to Project table) and the option to filter on the fly for the Kanban board. Example: In a daily standup having one Kanban board, similar to Jira, and being able to filter quickly by user, or issue type (bug, task), but also see them in swimlanes by a chosen field even if it is a lookup field as we go through standup without having to switch between views.
