The ability to create a List View.
One use would be to graphically represent the hierarchical structuring of records, e.g. Tasks and Subtasks.
A feature of List View could include the ability to replace Field names with icons - even user-defined icons (by pasting in a PNG, etc.). Hovering over the icon would reveal the Field name and perhaps other controls - like in the case of Time Logging.
This would help to get as many fields as possible onto a single screen without needing to horizontal scroll. (Perhaps icons could be incorporated into other views as well - Kanban View, Grid View, Gantt View) ;)

Being able to have subtasks to a checklist or being able to specify the type of record something is so that if it is related to project planning, it allows for the expanding and collapsing of related tasks and sub-tasks.
Also, being able to "copy" a checklist from a list of linked services so it doesn't affect the original service entry so you can have it linked to multiple projects or jobs.

dependent records this is crucial. Three level grouping does not cover or replace Tree View. SmartSheet does that, Excel (Grouping) does that, please add this feature to SmartSuite.Jon Darbyshire

- There could be specific Tree Elementfield, which when added would contain information about Records relation to Parent Record. When that field is populated, I could switch to Tree View and Records would be grouped by their Parent Row. If there are no Parent, then it's Root (top) item. Then with+-buttons on the left side I could navigate the Tree view and open, close Groups. Also I could easily add elements to group by pressing Tab on selected row, so it would populate that Parent cell with the link of Record above selection.
- For example, task and subtasks with subtasks etc. Now we have large classification system that we want to manage in SmartSuite, and there are lots of Parent-Children classes. You can look for example UNICLASS system, which have many classes with subclasses with subclasses with subclasses etc. For now, the navigation is very cumbersome as I have managed to group elements in two Layers (with some crazy formulas), but there are more than two layers. I could make tables and then link/populate them, but imagine, how many table there would be. Also, the linking UX now is very slow, I have 893 Records that has to be linked and it will only grow. (clicking on every row and manually searching for parent Record is a nightmare, especially when Records are chronological)
- I like in SmartSheet the ease of assigning element to a Group, with just simple Tab indent -> and outdent <-. The Excel have simple tree view navigation with +-.

Jon Darbyshire - Jon, attached are good examples of data that really needs some type of nesting feature to function well in a database. It would be amazing if smartsuite had a feature that would let you drill down into data like this so to choose a single item. There is an entire world out there that needs this type of data to setup cleanly in a relational data base somehow in an automated fashion. Please note MasterFormat, Uniformate, and OmniClass. These are all classifications systems. Getting these systems into a relational database automatically, and then being able to drill down and choose a single item is the problem.
