In construction, superintendents in the field primarily use "look-ahead" schedules. These are 2-6 week views of what is coming up next. Most commonly used are 3-4 week look-ahead schedules. With the way gantt charts are currently configured, they're not of great use once the project manager has set up the schedule. It needs to be able to translate to the field. Superintendents need to be able to see who's supposed be on-site today or tomorrow or next week, what days materials are supposed to be delivered.... These are all line items (records) on the schedule, but there's no easy way for them to see what they need to see. Microsoft Project, ProCore, Primavera P6 and other software used for construction scheduling all support this feature. It's a big gap with SS, and I'd love to see the feature added. Here's how the lookahead filter works in Primavera P6: https://youtu.be/UgjRcRyDTGs
