Make Priority match setting from app

Priority column not showing in My work

My Work items get generated based on the three fields that are linked with each other: Assigned To + Status + Due Date.
As of right now, Priority (Single Select) is not a part of this linkage. Hence, My Work does not have a context of which exact Single select field it should treat as the "Priority" field.
The current logic implies that every person can organize their own My Work items by setting up their priority inside their own panel.
For example, of the same task is assigned to several users, each of them might give it a different priority in their boards.

My Work will be coming through a redesign state quite soon, introducing My Work widget as part of this process. We will consider improving priority management as a part of this work.

Artem Kunytsia I'm interpreting this as exciting news! I'm a team of one, so every task that makes it into SmartSuite means I have to do it myself. But because "My Work" has been unusable to date, I have had to rely on an alternate method (outside of SmartSuite) to monitor what I need to do - and by when - and with what priority. Which, of course, amounts to an inefficient duplication of time and effort. So it will be quite lovely to have a functional and (hopefully) flexible "My Work" feature soon!

Any updates regarding the progress of this feature? I'm in free trial of Smartsuite and love everything about it so far, but the 'Priority' status within My Work being completely detached from the 'Priority' status within apps is mind-boggling. We operate on a priority ranking basis, not hard and fast due dates. It's the first time I'm thinking again about whether to go ahead with Smartsuite.

I second that as well, one of my customer is in need for that.

Any updates on this? I understand in a team environment why you would want items to come through with an empty priority, but for solo operators, if you want to utilise the "my work" section (which still has a way to go) it makes setting a priority in-task a bit pointless

Absolutely necessary to correct this! The need to set the priority for the task in My Work independently makes it useless, because instead of being the tool which made to simplify the process of reviewing current tasks collected from all solutions, it overcomplecates the process. Now I have to do the job twice. First set the record parameters in the Solution. And then go to My Work, find it first (which is not a moment task if your priority is not set automatically and you have a lot of due records) and set the priority again. Please fix it.

I may have misunderstood the issues here. If an item has been set as say High Priority in an App and then assigned to a person. When that person looks at their My Work tab presumably that doesn’t yet have a priority (for them)? I was assuming it would carry over the App record priority but it doesn’t seem to? Is that correct?

Mike Cribb:
Oooooh, ok, I see.
The Priority flag lives in the scope of your My Work only. It does not come from an actual record (unlike the Status and Due Date).
Which is why, when you re-assign a record to somebody else it will appear in their My Work with an empty Priority.
We plan to introduce a "management view" for My Work, so that a person with sufficient permissions could have a helicopter view on everyone else's tasks.
Let me move this thread to Feature Requests section, so we could keep track of it.
