Mind Map View

To do it right, you _must_ be able to link nodes to records! Otherwise, it's pointless, and Whimsical and other 3rd party mind maps are fine.
Imagine being able to: Start with a node like "Product", then branches to Development, Support, Marketing, etc. Then a node such as "Development" maps to Design, Features, etc. And THEN link those nodes to record tables or specific records where all the projects and tasks to accomplish it are tracked.
And then taking it a step further from "meh" to "Ninja" would be to roll up the entire status (percent complete, or stoplight status) at a NODE level so that an exec or PM can literally use the mind map to get a master view into how well the entire initiative (from dev to support to marketing to sales, etc) is going.
I see that it is taking _forever_ to review this for product consideration (sigh). I sure hope that means its because SmartSuite is not going to implement a lame mind-map.

I use MindMeister and MindNode a lot. Adding mind mapping to SmartSuite would be a great addition.

Ability to map workflows

Smartsuite is a work management system as such, is positioned to support businesses with simple to complex workflows.
Therefore, I think it is useful to have a the ability to map workflows (similar to Lucid chart) so that it is easier to understand how the work management system/set-up created for a client or your organisations operates.
This facilitates good handover process if you have just developed a Smartsuite system for a client.

Jon Darbyshire If you do consider this..... look at the flow of Mindmeister ..... so smooth.
BUT ...........if you go to the effort to add this feature can you program it where you can have live collaboration in building map; and that the user how created a thought/node has their icon on the node? Mindmister is great for single user use...... but collaboration you have no clue who contributed to what on a map

greg rawls Thank you for sharing this referene. This is a feature we want to add, but we have quite a number of things in front of this.

This would be a very useful view. Very few, if any apps, allow a user to input structured data into a database and then visualize it as a mind map.
Some use case examples could be:
Silo structures and interlinking of pages for SEO.
eCommerce product categories, products, and SKUs.
Client, project, and task relationships.
Not sure of your team's philosophy for feature releases but having an initial release of mind maps to visualize linked relationships would be a good start. Maybe allow for some grouping and filtering like in other views.
Here is a link to another feature request that mentions one-to-many relationships.
I'm not sure how the underlying logic works for SmartSuite's relationship linking, but it would great if SmartSuite could recognize the one-to-many relationship and use that to represent the link map.
Fibery.io and thebrain.com are good software to look at for representing relationships. Fibery for how it asks initially how to define a linked relationship in both directions. And TheBrain for how it represents a parent-child relationship and what it calls "jump thoughts". Which in this scenario could potentially be many-to-many relationships shown to the left or right with a collapsible toggle within a vertical parent-child structure. If that makes sense.
I'd like to hear your thoughts or anybody else's. Thanks
