New User Interface(s) - Like Airtable
Peter G.
SS needs much more robust UI's along the lines of AT* or similar. We should be able to have different record views for different grids of the same table. And not just limited to two columns as is current.
We need dedicated UI's separate from the "data layer". Customizable side panels, modal popups, tabs and sections (similar to record views), etc.
We need to be able to modify font styles (bold, italic) and colors in grid columns.
SS needs to stop automatically deciding which fields should go in which columns in record details.
We should have TOTAL control over which options to show in grids - including read-only grids, which options to allow for editing or entering new records, which toolbar items to show or hide, dropdown filters (as in dashboards), etc.
We need a proper traditional login option for users with a customizable login page. User's don't need to know (and mostly could care less) about SmartSuite.
We need a real customizable menu controlled by the SS builder.
SS could bring so much more to the UI than it is offering currently.

* Not that AT is all that robust, it's really not. But compared to the current limitations in SS, it is.

Hi Jon Darbyshire
I am very keen for SS to get a UI overhall to make it a bit more 'grown up'. I have been loving using the product but I do feel the UI is a bit outdated compared with other competitors such as AT, Baserow, NocoDB - its a personal preference but I much prefer the cleaner more streamlined ui's of these platforms.
Improvements for me would be -
Kanban view
- Status column colour bar is not centred over the column??
- Each column should be scrollable (like AT and trello)
- Its very annoying having to make sure the mouse is over the '+' to add a card to a column that is empty.
- more options for card size, i would like to be able to see more rows of cards when grouped... realistically I can really only see one and have to scroll down to see others.
Others
- I should be able to hit go on a timer log on a card - not just on a table. Currently I have to switch views just to easily hit a timer log.. OR open up the record view.
- I think changing the amount of available colours might go a long way to help with this the overall grown up feel.. the colours feel quite bright. even just opening up the full colour pallette you guys already have for all views and solutions would be better.
- DARK MODE
- Somesort of app build option.. like your dashboard view but available for public without signing in.
Overall, great product - I will continue to use it im sure you are already working on the general Idea of this post and can't wait to see the changes.

Thank you for posting, Peter G.! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features or functionalities do you find most valuable in Airtable's UI that you would like to see in our product?
- Can you provide examples of how customizable side panels, modal popups, or tabs would improve your workflow?
- Are there any specific use cases or scenarios where the current UI limitations significantly impact your productivity?
