On/Off switcher for view control options
Nikolay Budnikov
I think it would be great to add an option to turn ON and OFF view control items. For example: User set default filters in the report and uses them most of the time, but while searching for a record they need to change some of the added filters temporarily and then return previous filters back. Switching filters (sorting, group, and spotlight) ON and OFF can help users in this case.

This would be a great feature. We're using smartsuite as a crm/property management system, and find ourselves needing to delete and recreate filters often, and it's especially hard when you're talking to a client because it can sound like you don't know what you're talking about. If we could have something like this, or the ability to save a grouping of filters that can all be applied at once, our workflow would be a lot more seamless.

Toggle to enable/disable Filter

Would be really cool to be able to toggle the filter that is defined for a view, without having to delete the filter, and then recreate it. Use case: I filter order records out of a view that are perhaps in "support" status. Would be nice to disable the toggle to see all records without the filter instead of saving another view, or deleting and recreating a filter. The example here is simple, but I have more robust filters that take time to recreate. A drop down for filters could be cool werein you create perhaps 3 different filters that give different sets of data. Once set up, users could select the filter desired incuding "none"

Hello Scott Snyder! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more examples of the 'robust filters' you mentioned and how you typically use them?
- How often do you find yourself needing to toggle filters on and off?
- Would you find it useful to have a feature that allows you to save and quickly switch between different filter configurations?

Bypass a Filter

Because some filters take time to build, I would like an option to bypass a filter (really quick). When I'm done I activate the filter again.

or better yet, the option to save a filter

Alan Hoffmanner - This was where my idea evolved to. This would be an improvement over the original post in this thread.
