Open up 'Add/view Comments" by default. One of the tools we'd be switching from is Asana and people are so used to this there. I'd be OK with keeping it closed if no comments have ever been made, but once the first comment has been made, this panel should display without the user having to think about hitting the icon.

One could have SmartSuite display the right panel always or in certain tables.

I agree. Communication is an important part of our project management. I would prefer it (now called Communication Center) could be opened by default if a toggle is set to true.
For my needs, having this option would be at the app level, not at the individual record level.

Agreed, comments are an important piece of communication and it should be possible to always see the comment section by default.
