Scan a barcode > pulls up a form (on Mobile)

Tidd.CO if you still in need you can download "ScanKey" keyboard app from the IOS store. I'm sure there's others and I'm don't know about Android but it's a pretty quick and easy on the fly method. For generating the bar codes there are a couple ways if you search, but it can get involved. We have an automation to create 3-9 barcodes for scanning within fields in the app, and I made a button to create a QR when needed. App does both type and free so far. I'm just working on a way to print them from the record... hoping for some addition paper size options in Document Designer. QR is square 1x1 or 2x2, for 3-9 we currently use 2x1, but UPC is 1.46″ x 1.02″

Thank you for posting, Tidd.Co! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you provide more details on the types of records you would be scanning?
- What specific information would you like to see or edit in the form/record card after scanning the barcode?
- Could you describe a typical scenario where this feature would be used?
Tidd.Co
Jon Darbyshire these sound like AI generated questions to me :/
- records within apps, there are no other type of records
- nothing 'specific' I'd just want to see the record as it stands and be allowed to edit
- in a factory, after a works order has come out of a cost centre, scan the works order QR code > be taken to the record > enter how many waste units

Tidd.Co Thank you for the additional information. We have been thinking about adding a Barcode / QR Code field type that would also for this. In this case we would auto generate these codes for each record that is added. However, in your case it seems that you would want to enter the barcode you are already using. Have you seem any other products that allow you to input existing bar codes that I could use as a reference? If not, not worries as we will also do our own research.
