Set "Goal" of "Progress Metric" to a field value

I'd like to be able set the "Goal" for the "Progress Metric" widget to be the value of a field. For example, we calculate an employee's current MRR. We also have a field for the target MRR.
I want to be able to link a Progress Metric to a Record Selector and set the "Goal" amount to the field of Target MRR for that record so that it's dynamic and can change based on the selected record.

Yes please!
For us the goal would change about every week, so kind of often compared to Amanda's use case.
I also would love to see, that the Countdown-Goal could be set to the end date and time of a date area field. I use those to make sure that participants in meetings know how much time is left in the meeting. For now it's fine to update the countdown goal once a week for one meeting. But we aim to extend the methology to all departments which would make it impossible to use the same dashboard, if the departmental meetings would take place simultaniously...

For me, a big "Yes please"!
I would also welcome countdown targets (setting the final date from the selected table column)

Hiya Amanda Bullock, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific field types should be supported for setting the 'Goal' in the Progress Metric widget?
- Are there any specific conditions or rules for when the 'Goal' should update based on the selected record?
- How frequently do you expect the 'Goal' to update when a new record is selected?

1) Formula. Percentage, Number, and Currency fields would be an awesome starting places.
2) I think if there's a way to make it so that any time the field referenced is updated, the Goal conditions is updated. If possible, provide options like:
- Update any time the field updates
- Look & update once a week
- Look & update once a month
3) For our purposes the "Goal" would not update frequently. I would expect once month to be the most often, but even for our purposes right now that would be a high rate of updates.
Thanks for the follow-up! :)
