SharePoint Files and Images Connection

Any update on this issue? Monday.com has this integration and it works seamlessly. Really an issue for our team as the SS workaround duplicates work and files. Need to be able to create link between the record and Sharepoint so we can reduce the duplication of work and so we maintain the integrity of the file versions.

Adding link to files in Microsoft SharePoint to Files and Images field

I am keeping my business files in Microsoft SharePoint. I do want to have them available directly from the SmartSuite records. But I can't add them to Files and Images field as a shortcut to the online file. I can only add them by browsing the local copy on the computer and downloading it to SmartSuite. But this way I only get the current copy. If the file has been changed in SharePoint, I have to download it again to keep it up to date. Check how it is done in ClickUp. There, in the file attachment field you can select a OneDreve/SharePoint as a source, and in this case the record just keeps the file shortcut to the online storage. In SmartSuite you can access the OneDrive for Business. But, firstly, it is not able to see SharePoint files, and secondly, even from OneDrive it can only download the file, not create a shortcut. Of course I can use another field, the Link field, to keep the link to the file online. But this field keeps the full web address of the file, not the name of the file or something readable, which practically useless if you want to keep a few files in the field, you can't which one is which and distinguish them.

Hiya Yuriy yuriy@otomakeit.com, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details about how you would like to see the file names displayed when linked from SharePoint?
- Are there any specific features in ClickUp's implementation of this functionality that you find particularly useful or would like to see in our product?
- Would you find it useful to have version control features for the files linked from SharePoint, such as being able to see previous versions of the file?

Agreed. All of our files are stored in SharePoint. We do have a sharepoint link in OneDrive. But, the integration with OneDrive ignores the link.

Absolutely agree. My company files are kept in the SharePoint. I don't really want to copy them to SmartSuite and have double-copies. I just want to add a link to SmartSuite to the file in the SharePoint. But currently it is only available for OneDrive, but not for SharePoint. In ClickUp both options are available under the same name OneDrive/SharePoint. Would be great to have it here too.

This is a must have for a number of reasons including data retention compliance. At this point, we have a broken process. We can choose to upload a file to Smartsuite so it is linked to the record, or we can upload to our Sharepoint, or both. Need to be able to create link between the record and sharepoint so we can reduce the duplication of work and so we maintain the single source of truth.
