The Kanban view does not know how to sort a List. When you have more than one linked record or a multi-select it cannot sort the list and hence you will not be able to sort it.

I have a pipeline that organizes items by project. the project was a multi select field and i changed it to a linked field. neither appear when in kanban view and i try to sort by swimlane grouping.
