Sorted values returned inside of the Filter

When Filtering a Linked Record field, the data is presented in random order. See first image.
If the sort preference for that field was the same as the Linked record selector sort preference (see second image), that would suffice so the list was at least alphabetical.
The two examples below are for the same "Employee" name field, but the filter (left) has no sort order and the right has a sort because it's applied at the field level.

Hiya Yari Schutzer, thanks for sharing with us! Following up on this:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the sorting feature to work within the filter?
- What specific criteria would you like to use for sorting the values?
- Can you share an example of a situation where this feature would have been particularly useful?

Jon Darbyshire When filtering by a linked record field type, the Filter button presents values that are randomly/unsorted. It seems it ought to at least sort by the same sort type as the field (or at least alpha-numerically) by default.
By contrast, this feature already implemented for tables with linked records. That field's sort behavior is determined by "Modify Field Settings" > Sort so that the list presented is organized alphabetically, or by numerous other criteria.
Right now the workaround users do is to ignore the unsorted list and just start manually typing until the list is shorter.

Jon Darbyshire I just rewrote the original feedback post, as it wasn't really clearly written (even to me!) what was being shown. I've also included better screenshots. Hopefully the revision makes more sense!
