Similar to this request (https://smartsuite.canny.io/feature-requests/p/open-up-addview-comments-by-default) idea is to have Comment visibility open or closed by default when opening a Record.
This would echo the "Collapsed by Default" toggle available for most Fields and Widgets.
Controls could be something like:
[ 1 ] An additional Page Layout that has this auto expanded
OR
[ 2 ] Additional settings under "Page Settings" that allows you to set Comments to always be open, regardless of Page Layout. [preferred]
Updated page modal might look like:
  • When enabled, an additional column (about 200-400px wide) added to the right of the normal page layout. (Note: Not overlapping with Fields as it currently is.)
OR
  • When enabled, a "Communication Area" becomes a sticky section at the bottom of the modal about 300px high (expanding on the "Last Updated" section that is already functioning like this) with the option to expand/drag taller. (Less spacious than first option, but prevents modal size from becoming giant and losing your sense of context.)
